FAQ Sections That Reduce Support Tickets by 30%

A well-built FAQ can deflect 30% of pre-purchase support tickets.

Why FAQ sections work

A buyer who is about to ask a question is a buyer who is still interested. An FAQ block catches that question at the moment of hesitation, and answers it before the buyer has to leave the page to ask it. The saved step converts a small but meaningful fraction of browsers into buyers.

Across a few dozen listings, a well-placed FAQ section deflects 20-30% of pre-purchase support inquiries. Across hundreds, that is hours of agent time per week that can be redirected to actual edge cases.

How to brief the FAQ generator

The brief for an FAQ section is shorter than a listing brief but more specific. The model needs the product facts, the store's shipping and return policies, the most common objections (size, compatibility, durability, value), and the warranty details. The output is a buyer-ready block that reads like the store's own help center.

After the AI generates the FAQ, the operator's job is to check that none of the answers overpromise. Buyers remember 'lifetime warranty' claims, and they will use them. Keep the language honest. A small list of well-supported answers is more useful than a long list of puffery.

Placing FAQ in the listing

Place the FAQ block after the bullet list and before the long description. That position catches the buyer who has finished scanning the bullets but is not yet ready to read the full description. It is also the position that search engines treat as on-page content, which helps the listing surface for question-style queries.

Mark up the FAQ with structured data if your platform supports it. Question and answer schema can pull the FAQ block into Google's search results as rich results. The extra SERP real estate is worth the few minutes of setup.
